Hatred is The Most Dangerous Weapon to Destroy a Nation

Hatred is The Most Dangerous Weapon to Destroy a Nation

“Mr. Navalny’s and the larger point is that his voice is the voice of many, many Russians and it should be heard, not muzzled” said, Secretary of state Antony Blinken, Jan 27, 2021

Impeachment is a political poison to silent a popular leader, ‘Mr. Trump’s voice is the voice of many, many Americans and it should be heard, not muzzled.’

Protests outside Capitol Building

Protest outside White House, White House Lockdown by Security forces

Peoples are upset, peoples are worried about their future, peoples are angry with the government and its elected representatives. The politics of lobbyists and special interest groups meddling in the government, making the political environment worse. For over a year, the Coronavirus has restricted people’s freedom of movement, their livelihoods are being destroyed by the Coronavirus. After years of hard work, their prosperity is becoming poverty. In the last four years, the Democratic Party had not engaged in parliamentary politics, instead had promoted the politics of hatred against the administration, they do not like, and in this endeavor, media become a party with them. They wasted much time in investigations and impeachment, millions of dollars were spent on it, but nothing was achieved. Everyone knew that the Democrats did not have a majority in the Senate, and they cannot impeach the President. As a result, the Democrats lost 10 seats in Congress and could not get a majority in the Senate. Democrats must be realistic and admit their political blunders. It is unfair to hold President Trump responsible for the suffering the United States has endured for 16 years.

These groups are not new, which is now being called in 2021 America’s internal Terrorists. These groups have been in the United States for decades, before 2017, President Trump may not have as much knowledge about these groups as 17 US agencies did. In 16 years, the Bush and Obama administrations will also be aware of the growing extremism in these groups. But they did not focus on domestic American extremism, they focus only on the fight against global Islamic terrorists. The war is being fought under the watchful eye of so many incompetent leaders that in Iraq, where extremism and terrorist groups did not exist under Saddam Hussein, but hundreds of terrorist groups have sprung up under President Bush’s administration. President Obama did not know which countries formed the global terrorist organization ISIS, who was funding it? Syria and Libya have been facing Islamic terrorists since the 1970s. The Obama administration gave them a new life in Syria and Libya.

In the four years of President Trump, no new terrorist groups have emerged in the Islamic world and the terrorist groups that were developed under Bush and Obama’s leadership, they were disappeared from the scene. It would be a great injustice to accuse President Trump of encouraging terrorists. Last year during the lockdown, it reported that there were long queues at gun stores in Virginia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and some other southern states, with large numbers of people buying boxes full of bullets. Those who did not have guns were buying guns and bullets. Bullets had run out in these stores. No one questioned why so many bullets were bought and who they were.

The riots that were taking place in the cities of last summer, who was behind it? Who was inciting them? Stores were looted, property destroyed, attacks on police cars, police cars were set on fire, police stations were set on fire. The beauty of American cities was ruined. Billions of dollars were lost. But no one called the rioters terrorists. No one said it was a mob. Mob also tried to enter the White House, but Security was very tight, the Secret Service took President Trump to the basement of the White House. What would have happened in the White House if the mob had entered the White House? Perhaps worse than what had happened in the Capitol Building. If the Democratic Party and the state administration had controlled these extremists and destructive activities, the Capitol Building incident on January 6 might not happen. The politics of the extremists on the streets of the United States before the election had inspired those who had extremism in the Capitol Building after the election. In Kenosha, Wisconsin, a mob set fire to a car dealer, for the car dealer’s owner and employees, it was like an attack on the World Trade Center. The standard of American politics has fallen and now it is pro-mob vs anti-mob. This is the tragedy of the American political system. If President Trump had won the election, how would the Democrats have reacted differently to the Republicans?

Hate is the most dangerous weapon to destroy a nation. Hate is now a major threat to US security.

How an Incompetent and Unfit President’s Policies Fit in Biden Administration’s Policies?

How an Incompetent and Unfit President’s Policies Fit in Biden Administration’s Policies?

Democracy has prevailed, but what about the freedom of speech? Which is under attack in America?

Mujeeb Khan

Joe Biden 46th President's Sworn in a ceremony

Donald J. Trump, 45th President's Farewell

The world watched President Trump’s farewell ceremony. It was like President Trump was going into exile. This was the scene when the Shah of Iran went into exile. On the other side, the newly elected President Joe Biden came to power, the world had seen it because America is still in the Cold War era. There fore 1952 came to mind when the Shah of Iran brought back to Iran from exile, and so was the celebration of the king’s coming to power, in the United States, in fact, the Establishment has returned to power from exile.

President Biden did not say anything new in his speech. Twelve years ago, President Obama also spoke about Blue State, Red State, United States, unity. But in his 8 years, The United States has not been united. On the contrary, by uniting the Arab rulers against Syria and Libya, President Obama stood among them, and now Syria is not united. Libya is not united either, or the United States is not united. The question President must ask himself is why is the United States not united? For four years, the United States debated Russia’s interference in 2016 election, and President Trump’s impeachment on the issue of withholding aid to Ukraine did not unite the United States. The politics of making Donald Trump’s presidency a dreadful example was not the politics of uniting the United States. When eighty million are Donald Trump’s followers, who will break the tie to make the nation United?

‘Democracy has prevailed’ in America? elections were not the American spring movement, and Donald Trump was not Husseini Mubarak. America’s existence is about democracy, and every four years elections are the guaranty that ‘democracy has prevailed.’ Under Donald Trump’s four years of democracy in America was thriving, and the world has never seen a grassroots political awakening in America. This is a big democratic political change in America. In the history of the United States, the media will not be as aggressive and hostile to any president as it was President Trump. President Trump did not impose any restrictions on media and social media. But the media reduced the coverage of President Trump, and social media have banned President Trump indefinitely. This is to suppress free speech. This is what the undemocratic governments do around the world. But in the United States it has been started by the social media and media, and surprisingly, no one has condemned it. Democrats fell silent. If the media and social media have been trying to suppress the freedom of expression of the people, isn’t this democracy going to prevail? President Reagan said 38 years ago, “Government is a problem, not a solution.” If President Trump had said this in the current political situation, he would have been impeached on charges of inciting people and is treason. In 38 years, this dramatic change has taken place in the two-party system of the United States.

In the last four years, the color of democracy has turned dark in Red State, Blue State, and the United States. The sober values of democracy have fallen sharply. After the campaign to remove Saddam Hussein from power, lies have been told about the removal of President Donald Trump from power in the United States. The American people elected Donald Trump, but for four years, the American people were told that Russia had imposed Donald Trump on the United States. The facts have been distorted for four years.

Never in the history of the United States has there been a presidential election campaign in which only lies were told, by misinformation and disinformation tried to convince the voters. There was no discussion of the records of government policies. What people and the world heard in the election campaign that Donald Trump was unfit for the president? Donald Trump was incompetent for the president. That is what Joe Biden said, now he is in the White House. Mitt Romney had said, he wanted to be president of the United States in the future. Donald Trump is no longer president, but there is a presidency, and they have severely damaged the reputation of the US President in the world. President Bush lied to the world about Iraq. President Obama has been installing secret spying equipment in the offices of US allies, and they are telling the world that Donald Trump is an unfit president, and incompetent. The world will look at every American president with the same skepticism. After making such nonsensical remarks, the Biden administration has said it will continue some of President Trump’s policies.

Congresswoman Liz Cheney vote for President Trump’s impeachment is only in her father’s business interest, she has no respect 74million Americans who have voted a Republican President Trump, the American people do not need political opportunists and morally corrupt leaders.

President and Vice President-elect, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

Protesters inside Capitol Building

'Black lives Matter' protest, Rioters burning properties and looting shops

Republicans will now accept President Joe Biden with the same dislike with which the Democrats accepted President Donald Trump. An hour after Donald Trump was sworn in as president, the same day Democrats were sworn in to impeach President Trump would be a solemn duty. since then, the Democrats are after President Trump to impeach him. Now, this is a second strike since the Democrats failed in their solemn mission a year ago, they are seeing success this time. Democrats, like the Taliban, will continue to impeach President Trump, as the Taliban will continue to fight until the United States is defeated.

Pundits are sitting on TV talking that President Trump should participate in the celebration of Joe Biden becoming president. Sure, this has always been an American tradition, but this tradition has been turned into chaos by the incoming president’s party. In 4 years, there has been no talk of goodwill except the politics of spreading hatred. In the dark clouds of hatred, this celebration is like an eclipse. The role of the media had become a political party, alliance with Joe Biden’s election campaign. The politics of the Democratic Party have changed. If the party, not extremists but it overly aggressive. The Democratic Party’s election campaign was an anti-Trump, exploiting the rising death toll from the coronavirus against the Trump administration and they stand on the sidelines during the violent riots across the United States that which could hurt President Trump politically, battlefields grounds were, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Portland, Houston, and other US cities. Police stations were attacked, Police cars were on fire, Stores were being looted. The property was being destroyed. This was also internal terrorism. Joe Biden and his party were silent at that time. If condemning them strongly, the Capitol Building may not be attacked like this. There is no difference between the scenes of vandalism inside the Capitol Building and the scenes of vandalism in Portland, Chicago, Houston, New York, Los Angeles. The only difference was that they were being used in the election campaign against the President Trump administration.

Joe Biden, President-elect lectured the American people on the rule of law after the insurrectionists attacked the Capitol Building. He reminded the people that “America’s democracy is based on the rule of law.” But just six months ago, when American cities were on fire, Joe Biden did not remind lawbreakers of the rule of law. How many of them were arrested and sentenced? not only this Joe Biden pressure the Ukrainian government to break the law and called for the prosecutor to be fired. The prosecutor was investigating corruption in a Ukrainian company involving Biden’s son. When Vice President will discourage legal action against corruption in the Ukrainian government. So corrupt Ukrainians will do money laundering in the United States and violate US law. In his speech, Joe Biden called the attack on the Capitol Building “internal terrorism”. But when Joe Biden was vice president, supported terrorist attacks on Libyan and Syrian capitals. The terrorists killed the US ambassador to Libya in Benghazi in the Obama-Biden administration and no action was taken against anyone. No one was held accountable. Hypocrisy is being seen in the role of elected representatives of the people. They are leading the nation to moral decay.

Congresswoman Liz Cheney has voted to impeach President Trump only in her father’s business interests. Former Vice President Dick Cheney proposed Joe Biden for president a year ago. 74 million Americans voted for Donald Trump. Liz Cheney herself is a Republican and was elected by Republican in her constituency. Sixty-eight days after her election, Liz Cheney has spoken out against 74 million Americans and backed Democrats’ political ambitions for which they were working for the last four years, she is politically opportunist and morally corrupt. Her father Vice President Dick Cheney lied about Iraq. As a result, 6,000 mothers lost their sons and daughters in Iraq, the women lost their husbands in Iraq, and the children lost their fathers. Many American families were devastated by this lie. The Capitol Building incident is not bigger than this human catastrophe. But nobody was accountable from top to bottom nor bottom to top. This is a conspiracy to execute a president by impeachment, so that president has not appeared in Washington DC ever again.

Is This A Mutiny? Attack on Capital Building, Among Most of Them Was Afghan and Iraq War Veterans, President Trump Are Paying the Price of The Last Two President’s Political Sins and Blunders

Is This A Mutiny? Attack on Capital Building, Among Most of Them Was Afghan and Iraq War Veterans, President Trump Are Paying the Price of The Last Two President’s Political Sins and Blunders

After the Afghan war freedom fighters went to fifty countries, and after the Iraq liberation, liberators come to the home, and now they are in fifty states. This is sad that Democrats hate so President Trump that they are telling the world America’s Commander-in-Chief is dangerous for the world and for America.

Does the Military- Style, Impeachment Summary Trial come under the law of democracy?

The world should understand that President Trump is not a professional politician. That is why he is different from the master of politicians. He did not speak the political language as politicians speak half-lie, half-truth, and half-empty talk. Whatever words come in his mind he said it. He should be impeached on his every word, Donald Trump's every word that he has said is impeachable. President Trump expresses his views on domestic and global affairs directly to the people by Twitter or address. While other presidents talk behind closed doors in the White House to establishments and lobbyists. When coming in front of the people and say something else. They keep the people always in the dark. They were two face presidents. Donald Trump one face and very outspoken president. That is why Donald Trump is a different President, the most transparent administration in American history. Barak Obama and George W. Bush are equally responsible for what is happening in the United States, but President Trump is paying a heavy price for the consequences of decisions in their administrations. That is why it is said that ‘decisions have far-reaching consequences.’

The world has seen a glimpse of the dangerous decision made by the Bush-Chaney administration, in the attack on the Capitol Building. The Obama-Biden administration was careless and irresponsible. They did not correct Bush-Chaney’s politically-incorrect decisions. After 911 President Bush’s speeches to the American people were inciting for a crusade against Muslims, he ordered his army ‘bring am dead or alive’ he said, ‘they hate us’, they hate our freedom, they hate our prosperity’ etc. President Bush’s inciting speeches created hatred against Muslims, that Mosques were attacked, their businesses ransacked, many Muslims were killed as a result of this hatred. When the Republican party’s elders, including George H. Bush, saw this hate movement against the Muslims community is spreading, they barred President Bush from using the inciting language. Then came the hate movement to oust Saddam Hussein. Saddam Hussein was described as a major threat to the United States and the world. When the army was going to Iraq, President Bush had told soldiers that Saddam Hussein wanted to destroy the United States with his deadly weapons. Then we saw of this hateful incitement the treatment of Iraqis in Abu Ghraib prison and with the peoples. It was a testament to that hatred. Then the way the Iraqis were killed was the result of that hatred.

During Afghan and Iraq wars, many young Americans were recruited by the US army and Blackwater, a private army, without their background check. Among them, many were the White Supremacists, the Neo-Nazis, and some others belong to extremist groups. Just as young people were recruited from the Arab world in the Afghan war.

President Obama did not end the Iraq and Afghan wars and kept them engaged in the wars, they were sent 6 or 7 tours to Iraq and Afghanistan. They were kept away from the United States. Perhaps President Obama’s de-facto war secretary John McCain’s advised he opened new fronts in Yemen, Libya, and Syria to keep American troops involved in the war. The first black President who was awarded the Noble Peace Prize has fought the most wars in the world.

President Trump announced the end of wars after coming to power. The American troops were back home. There was no new war in Trump’s four years. No American soldier was killed anywhere in the world. There was a significant reduction in the incidence of terrorism in the world. There was no bombing in the United States. There is a campaign of hatred against this president. Now President is being impeached for the second time. This is the tragedy of the American political system. Democrats call President Trump a threat to the United States and the world. President George W. Bush called Saddam Hussein a threat to the world and to the United States. President Obama calls Assad must go, now he is calling Trump must go, and that is what American leaders, American media, American intellectuals are talking about. This means that the Taliban and the Ayatollah who have been saying this for a long time have now been confirmed.

Troops in the United States are angry that their commander-in-chief is a threat to the United States and the world, that is what their newly elected president and their elected representatives are saying. The media and Democrats have become so obsessed with hating President Trump that they are harming national security forces, and they are also dividing the army in hatred of one person. This is the political culture of America. Political leaders do dangerous politics and, when they see the dangerous consequences, they start blaming others.

Changing the Role of the Democratic Party: Impeach the President, Solve the People’s Problems, The President Could Use the Nuclear Weapons is Nonsense and Rubbish Thinking, The Popular Leader Has Faith in the People’s Power

Changing the Role of the Democratic Party: Impeach the President, Solve the People’s Problems, The President Could Use the Nuclear Weapons is Nonsense and Rubbish Thinking, The Popular Leader Has Faith in the People’s Power

There have been many dark days in American history in the last 20 years. The first rigged election of the 21st century was also a dark day in American history. When young American soldiers die on foreign soil, they are also dark days in American history. On January 20, 2001, George W. Bush was sworn in as the 43rd President of the United States, same-day children born in the United States. On January20, 2021, Joe Biden will be sworn in as 46th President of The United States, those children will be 21 years old on that day. Today their future is dark. President George Bush never thought about their future. Nor did President Barack Obama gives them a future. Today, these children have neither a job nor a home. They have no life. They are buried in student loans, there is also the burden of national debt on top of it. It took Congress four months to approve the budget. But in 3hours, they prepared three thousand pages of impeachment charges against President Trump. People do not have food to eat. People are becoming homeless, and they are intoxicated with impeachment. President Trump has ruined his life for the American people. Why did President Trump need to get into this trash politics?

President Trump's supporters Protesting outside Capitol Building, Jan6, 2021

Protestors inside Capitol Building

Grandpa, Grandma are you mob? We saw you on CNN near the Capital building, they said this is the mob. No dear we are not a mob, I am 70 years old, your Grandma, 68 years old, we have never taken part in protests. We only came here for your future. You have managed this country for the next 50-60 years, and your future is at stake. Joe Biden was in the Capitol building for 47 years if he had done anything for the children’s future, today we would not be gathered here. The children born in President Reagan’s administration, the Bush administration recruited them and took to Iraq, where they died, some of them are badly disabled. There were no deadly weapons in Iraq. President Bush lied to the American people. What would have happened to him if President Trump had done it? The US ambassador to Libya and five other Americans were killed in a terrorist attack in Benghazi under President Obama’s administration. What would have happened to President Trump? If it has happened in his administration? Why President Clinton did not catch Bin Laden in 1998? Bin Laden was in Sudan, and the Sudanese government informed the Clinton administration about bin Laden’s presence in Sudan, but President Clinton showed no interest. President Bush was told about bin Laden’s attack on the United States, but the president did nothing. But neither of them blamed the president for the attack on the United States. The president was not even accountable for waging war since lies. The system from they were presidents, the American people are rebelling against this system.

How did the protesters enter the Capital Building? While security was so tight, and at a time when a joint congressional session was being held to confirm Biden’s election credentials. Republicans have objected to election irregularities in some states. They were insisting not to verify the electoral votes of these states. The joint session of the Congress was adjourned due to this objection, and Senators and members of Congress were given the opportunity to discuss it in their chambers. Republican were in the majority in Senate, and there were fears that Biden could be prevented from confirming the electoral vote. Everyone has seen what happened in the Capitol building since then. The debate in the Senate and Congress ended. Three hours later, both parties confirmed Biden’s electoral vote. Biden becomes the 46th president of the United States. Mission accomplished. President Trump was accused of vandalizing the Congress building, and the presidency that went to Biden. Whose plan was it? Immediately after the attack on the Congress building, in 1991, the action of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee came to mind when the Senate committee was not allowing President George H. Bush to invade Iraq. Democrats had a majority in the Senate. Senator Joe Biden was a ranking member of the committee. President George H. Bush was a former director of the CIA, and he was familiar with the CIA’s operational tactics.

A Kuwaiti girl appeared before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. She was crying and telling the senators the stories of the atrocities of Saddam Hussein’s army in Kuwait, how Saddam Hussein’s army was removing newborns babies from hospitals, incubators, and throwing them on the streets. The senators were shocked to hear that they had allowed President Bush to invade Iraq. After the Iraq war, it was discovered that the Kuwaiti girl was the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador to Washington and had been coached by the CIA and presented to the Senate. Like the 911 attack on the US, who did it? Now, who conspired to attack the Capital building? It will never know? The governments that the United States hated in the Third World were similarly forced to step down. The hate movement against them was carried in the same way. What we are witnessing today in American politics is not different.

The election is rigged. Who voted for Joe Biden, they also acknowledged fraud in the election process? Now, in the election of 2024, the president will also be elected by rigging. This practice will continue even after that. The Establishment, the Deep State, has become more powerful than the democratic institutions. In the American democratic system, they are the Communist Party.

Does the Government’s Extreme Policies Generate Extremists?

Do the Government’s Extreme Policies Generate Extremists?

 Mujeeb Khan

Daniel Pearl, murder in Karachi, Pakistan, 2002

Benazir Bhutto, murder in Pakistan, 2008

Jamal Khashoggi, murder in Saudi Consulate in Istanbul, Turkey 2018

If we look at the murder of Jamal Khashoggi the murder of Daniel Pearl comes to mind. Both were journalists, one was a Washington post’s columnist and the other to the Wall Street journal’s reporter. Daniel Pearl was brutally murdered in Karachi, Pakistan, and Jamal Khashoggi was brutally murdered at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey. The barbarity with which they were killed, it showed that there was no humanity in them. Daniel Pearl was killed because he was Jewish, and Khashoggi was dismembered for sharply criticizing the Saudi government. In Islam, killing one person is called killing all humanity. Then among those who are non-Muslims, Muslims have been responsible for protecting their lives and property. But those who wanted to spread Islam in the world and were leading Pakistan on the path of becoming an Islamic state. They are the ones who killed Daniel Pearl and Jamal Khashoggi.

Not a single foreigner has ever been killed in Pakistan. Even long before Daniel Pearl, the western media representation used to come to Pakistan. But the people of Pakistan have never seen what their religion was. Religious fanaticism in Pakistan was promoted under the military rule of General Zia-ul-Haqq. Twenty-four years before the murder of Daniel Pearl, religious extremists, who had the full support of General Zia’s military government, were beating and killing liberals and progressives in Pakistan’s universities and colleges. Those who opposed General Zia’s Afghan policy were labeled Moscow’s agents. The Reagan administration, British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, unwise Saudi, and Gulf governments supported General Zia’s Afghan adventurism. These allies agreed to start a jihad to liberate Afghanistan from communist forces. The Reagan administration announced plans to train, arms, and fund jihadists. Pakistan had given the CIA to set up training camps for jihadists on its soil. The governments of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states provided manpower for jihad. Afghan jihad had now become a US war. All Islamic parties in Pakistan supported Afghan jihad, and their leaders were General Zia’s allies. While pseudo nationalists stood on the sidelines. They were neither against jihad nor in support of jihad.

Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was in jail in a fabricated murder case. Begum Bhutto was leading the people party for a movement to remove General Zia from power and restoring constitutional democratic government and demanding an end to all baseless charges against Bhutto, including a murder case. Under Begum Bhutto’s leadership, the people party was the only party that strongly opposed the game General Zia was playing in Afghanistan. We also participated in this movement. Our group was highly active in the university, we often met Begum Bhutto. For the first in Pakistan, I drank coffee in a meeting with Begum Bhutto in Larkana. We have always a good conversation with her. Whenever Benazir Bhutto was in Karachi, we used to meet her. She used to meet party officials and delegations from interior Sind, after these meetings, Benazir Bhutto would come to meet us on the lawn. Sanam Bhutto and some of her friends used to come and sit with us. The pleasant summer evenings and the full moon made the conversation more pleasant. Benazir Bhutto talks about her meeting with Bhutto in jail. She talked about how General Zia was harming Pakistan. Bhutto’s concerns were also expressed on this. After meeting Benazir Bhutto, we used to come to the press club, and in the meeting with her, the news of the conversation was given to the reporters. Undoubtedly, that Karachi was very civilized compared to today’s Karachi.

Our first and last meeting with Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was a memorable and historic one. After his release from Murree, Prime Minister Bhutto came to Karachi by train. All along the way, there was a sea of people at every station. This proved that the Prime Minister could have been elected unopposed. There was also a huge crowd at 70 Clifton. It was a great honor for us to have a brief meeting with a great leader, Prime Minister Bhutto. Bhutto said, “They will not leave me. This will be a long struggle; you people must continue to fight for democracy. That night, Prime Minister Bhutto was arrested in a murder case and taken to Lahore, and imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail.

Our struggle for Bhutto’s release and for democracy continued. I decided to start a newspaper at the university. Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi helped achieve this goal. The newspaper was liked by the true supporters of democracy, liberals, and progressives at the university. My professors also appreciated it, at the university, General Zia’s pro-Islamic organizations prevented us from distributing newspapers, they were snatched newspapers from us and torn them. There was an atmosphere of fear and terror in the university. But our faith in democracy was stronger. Bhutto was hanged on April 4, 1979. At 8 o’clock I was passing near Mehran hotel. The newspaper vendor was standing on the sidewalk with a special supplement in his hand with a big black headline ‘Bhutto Hanged’. I bought it, there were tears in my eyes. The first and last meeting to the fore. “they will not leave me you people would continue the struggle for democracy.” It was like Ashura day, a gloomy and sad atmosphere.

Jihadist attacks against communist forces were on the rise in Afghanistan. On the one hand, a flood of Afghan refugees was coming to Pakistan, and on the other hand, a plane loaded with jihadists was coming to Pakistan from the Arab world. CIA training camps were set up near the Afghan border. The stage of Islamic jihad against the communist forces was set. Another jihad was launched by General Zia and his Islamic extremist allies against a liberal and progressive system in Pakistan. Attempts were being made to introduce the Saudi system in Pakistan. In which general kings and Islamic leaders were princes. Extremist jihadists were killing liberal and progressive Afghan citizens in Kabul. On the other side in Pakistan Islamic fanatics and extremists attacking General Zia’s opponents. Jihad was not confined to Afghanistan. This was also happening in Pakistan.

I met Selig S. Harrison in the ’80s, he was visiting Prof. Dr. Manzoor Uddin Ahmed at Karachi University, in his office Prof. Shamim Akhtar was also there, Prof. Shamim Akhtar introduced Selig Harrison to me. Selig Harrison was an expert on South Asian affairs, a journalist, Scholar of Carnegie Endowment for Peace. I had read Selig Harrison’s articles on South Asia, especially about Pakistan in Foreign Policy Magazine. Prof. Dr. Manzoor Uddin Ahmed knew him when he was at Columbia University in New York as a visiting professor. Prof. Shamim Akhtar asked me to interview Selig Harrison. I asked for time from Selig Harrison for an interview and he was willing to meet me at 3 o’clock. I arrived at his hotel InterContinental at sharp 3 o’clock. I asked Selig Harrison, why the Reagan administration is supporting Islamic fanatics and extremists in Pakistan. They are the biggest threat to our lives. They are beating and killing us in universities and colleges, we are living in harassment and fear, and the Reagan administration is supporting them. “It’s our government’s policy”, said Selig Harrison. Listening to this, I said to myself that this conversation was over. It means that neither you nor I can change this policy. I changed the subject and started talking about other things. “If you come to New York, see me,” said Selig Harrison.

I went to Iran, many of my Iranian classmates become Ayatollah Khomeini’s supporters, during the movement against Shah they went to Paris and came to Tehran with Ayatollah Khomeini. Some of them would join the government, some elected members of parliament. When they came to Karachi, they asked me to come to Iran. There was an atmosphere of civil war in Iran at that time. It was an interesting trip to Iran. I saw for the first time what a revolution is. The Shah’s royal palace in the north of Tehran and extreme poverty in the south of Tehran were a big contrast. After returning from Iran, I wrote a book on Iran’s revolution.

When I came to the United States, I met Selig Harrison at the Rockefeller Center in New York. Selig Harrison was writing a book on Baluchistan. He had me to translate some material, after writing a book on Baluchistan, he told me that he would now work on North Korea. In North Korea, there was no difference between his and my views, we both agreed that this issue can only solve by dialogue. Selig Harrison said to me ‘you go to the School of Journalism, University of Missouri, I’ll give you the letter, the director of the School of Journalism will help you.
